A home inspection is a non-invasive examination of a home, its systems and components. We will check:
-Visible and accessible areas of the foundation, basement and structure
-Visible and accessible areas of the roof
-Heating, plumbing, and cooling units
-Electrical systems
-Attic, insulation and ventilation
-Doors, windows and interior
Once complete you will receive a report that covers any issues found that require attention. The report will have all items needing quicker attention in a summary at the beginning.
One large misconception is that home inspectors are code inspectors. We are not. I am with you to evaluate the home as a whole. We are generalists that are looking out for your well being, the main focus is on items that can cause you harm (Safety issues) or large ticket items (ie. a furnace that is about to fail).
If you are building a home, moving into a new home or an old one you need a home inspection. Even someone familiar with building science is likely not trained to look at the home as a whole, or know what systems to focus on. One of the most important inspections is the 11 month warranty inspection, because you only have the duration of the new home warranty to get any issues that arose from construction covered for free.
